US President Joe Biden has delivered a “massive win” to the Russians after waiving sanctions on the Russian company in charge of building the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, according to Sky News host Rita Panahi.
President Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken have previously been ardent opponents to the building of the natural gas pipeline connecting Russian and Germany
Secretary Blinken expressed his determination to block the construction of the pipeline during his Senate confirmation hearings.
“I am determined to do whatever we can to prevent that completion of Nord Stream 2,” he said.
President Biden this week waived sanctions on the company building the pipeline, giving way for the pipeline to go ahead.
Ms Panahi said the decision was a “massive win” for the Russians and President Vladimir Putin.
