Beware of the Browser Redirect Virus!

World News

The redirect virus is one of the most annoying things on the planet. You enter a search into the search engine. You get your results. You click on one of them. And suddenly you’re taken to a web page that doesn’t have anything to do with what you thought you clicked on. Guess what happened? Your computer has been infected with the redirect virus.

This is a kind of virus that’s redirecting you to a different webpage when you search online for something.  Say you were in Google, Yahoo or Bing doing some kind of search – everything looks normal when you are performing searches. You clicked on a link in the search engine, and instead of going where you wanted to go, you got routed to some other page. At first, you just figured out you must have clicked the wrong link or something. Here you hit the back button so you can go where you really wanted to go the first time. But when you don’t end up on the page you expected, it can drive you crazy! You wouldn’t even suspect that you have the Google redirect virus on your computer.

The Google Redirect Virus is a “browser hijack” virus which will send your computer to fake websites when you are redirected online. In normal circumstances, Windows will be able to send you to the correct website when it is redirected, but if you have the Google Redirect Virus, the virus will “inject” its own websites into the redirect process, leading your PC to send you to random ones. This will happen for all redirects, not just search engine results. However, as most search engine results will redirect you, that’s where most people see the issue.

The Google / Search redirect virus is one of the most common viruses of 2010 / 2011, infecting millions of computers around the World. Designed by expert hackers, it is highly annoying and will continually redirect your web searches to fake websites. The main reason why this virus is one of the most damaging is that it cannot be removed with traditional antivirus programs. Instead, you need to use special methods or tools to get rid of it, which have remained a mystery until now.

The only way to even get around the redirect virus is to copy and paste the URLs you really want to go to. You can’t click them in the search engine, or the redirect virus will do it’s thing and send you somewhere else.

In fact, the redirect virus is affecting your browser. But it can also be affecting the DNS settings in your router. And it rarely leaves a trail. That’s why the virus protection isn’t picking it up. You can try AVG, Norton, Avast, even Malware bytes — none of them will get rid of it on their own. Even if they detect it, as soon as you open up your browser it will start up again.

You manually type in the URL and see the site you wanted to go to works just fine. At this point, you figure your search probably just went haywire for some reason, so you head back to Google to try a different search…and again you get sent to some random site!

Are there ways to get rid of the Google redirect virus manually? Yes! But it involves resetting a bunch of things on your computer that I wasn’t exactly comfortable with doing by myself. So I just got this software that helped me get rid of it. It changes all of the settings for you so that you don’t make a mistake and shut your computer down totally.

To get rid of the search redirect virus, you need to fix the settings, options and Windows files which have been infected & changed. This cannot be done by using a typical anti-virus program, and needs specialist software or specific tutorials to do it.
